AÙCTOR
video installation/performance, paris
Inspired by the life of poet Anna Akhmatova and the invisible oppression she endured under the Stalinist terror, Aùctor explores the changes in behavior of bodies subject to silent tensions.
A translucent sheet defines the limits of a shrinking space slowly tying the performers to each other. An invisible cone, only defined by a camera field of view, creates a space of confrontation between dancers and their own distorted image. Drifting in and out, they learn how to recapture their identity.
